We do this through well planned and comprehensive projects in health, education, livelihoods and disaster preparedness and response. Our overall goal is the empowerment of women and girls from poor and marginalised communities leading to improvement in their lives and livelihoods.

We envision a world where all women, girls, and trans people have a voice and choice in the work they do; where they are paid equal wages in safe and secure workplaces; and where they can be leaders and decision-makers in their work.
Women in India have to endure many ordeals in their day-to-day lives. For centuries women of all generations have had to struggle to be treated as equals. Gender inequality is reflected in India’s low ranking on the Gender Inequality Index released by the UNDP, in 2016 India ranked 130 out of 146.
Our plans to build strategically developed programs, likewise three-tier project that aims at strengthening a woman’s demeanor towards life itself. Beginning from the roots, the first step is to provide remedial education to their children so that they do not live a similar life; second is to provide exposure along with professional training, and third is equipping them with a platform where their skilled products can be exhibited and sold. Women are taught professional and vocational skills focussed in stitching and tailoring in order to assist them in generating self-employment and a means of income in an effort to make them self-reliant and empowered. Renowned professionals of the country personally deliver these workshops while a few have also hired these women to work under them.
Our Theory of Change shows what needs to happen to achieve our vision: a world where all children and youth are safe, strong, and valued. The wellbeing of children, girls, women and youth is improved, especially those who are most disadvantaged, vulnerable, and marginalized.
All are safe, enjoy high-quality and lifelong education, and have equal opportunities, empowered their families and communities support them in exercising their rights.

A warm smile is the universal language of kindness. A classroom full of smiles from the preschool students in Puttur is one the fondest memory I have volunteering with ATITHI WELFARE. From school boat pick-ups to making paper bag animal puppets to a fun-filled field day, spending time with the most appreciative and happiest children I’ve met was a blessing. I look forward to seeing those smiles again!
