COVID-19

COME FORWARD AND SUPPORT OUR NATION FIGHT AGAINST COVID19

We are working & looking for monetary help for COVID-19 pandemic

Why Choose Us?

At this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the crucial step is to contain the spread of the virus by maintaining the required hygiene standards. A large section of our country, the vulnerable and downtrodden communities have little or no access to the basic sanitary standards. We are trying to provide “basic hygiene kits” which will help thousands of poor families, abandoned elderlies, urban slum dwellers and many others who are devoid of the very basic sanitary equipment. We seek funds to acquire and distribute these kits as well.

We saw an unprecedented “walk back” of thousands of migrant workers to their homes in villages from far-away cities where work has dried up for them due to the lock-down. As a team we out to help them in these hard times. We are constantly providing food in the form of “Dry Ration” to these families.
CHARITY FOR COVID19

We have already collaborated up with a some of the sanitisers manufacturers to donate sanitation kits to below poverty level and in small Covid19 Centers. This would be a small token of “Thanks” to our Doctors and Health workers for risking their lives for the community. We would like all of you to contribute towards this noble cause so that we can set up more Sanitization Tunnels in Covid-

CHALLENGES

This crisis threatens everyone's way of life, but it is especially difficult for people who are already vulnerable, including those with pre-existing medical conditions, older adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, refugees and migrants, wage workers, and those with inflexible jobs.

SOLUTION

Your donation to this fund will help stop the virus's spread and give communities on the front lines of the crisis the resources they need to act quickly and protect the most vulnerable. As the situation evolves, the fund will transition to support longer-term recovery and education efforts run by local, vetted organizations in affected regions. We will work with our partners on the ground to allocate funds where they're most needed.

We are responding to the emerging crisis which affects those living at the fringes of society most. These are tough times for everyone, although even at times like these, poor migrant workers, daily wage earners, children and families on streets, in slums, and those who are already living in poverty are the worst affected and at the greatest risk.

Long-Term Impact

We believe that organizations that are deeply rooted in local communities are best positioned to lead long-term plans to stop COVID-19. Your donation to this fund will help build stronger response capacities in communities around the world so that we are all better equipped to face future outbreaks. GlobalGiving will send you regular email updates about how your donation has been put to use.

Persistent challenges remain for thousands of migrant workers whose lives were upended by the lockdown across the country, in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Lacking jobs and money, and with public transportation shut down, they were forced to return back to their home villages.

The announcement of a lockdown came at a time when sugarcane cutting, in Andhra Pradesg, Telangana was at its peak and a large number of migrants from other states were working there. Lockdown resulted in villages being cordoned off, leaving migrant workers isolated. This was also one of the reasons for daily wage workers to head home, without collecting their earnings.

SOME OF THOSE INITIATIVES ARE LISTED BELOW:

1. Provide over 5,000 N-95 masks to Health Departments of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.
2. Distribute essential food item and preventive kits to the construction workers stuck at construction sites in Tirupati, Bangalore and Khammam.
3. Make available Hygiene kits to the police personnel to keep them safe while they deliver their duties on ground in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
4. Supporting poor migrant workers who have returned to their native villages and are in urgent need of food items, quarantine facilities and awareness generation activities in states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

HELPING IN COVID19 PANDEMIC.

As India fights to stay afloat amidst the COVID-19 lock-down, the elderly are struggling to simply survive. Senior citizens have been the worst hit, as they are the most vulnerable especially those above 80 years of age who are at a high risk of succumbing to COVID-19. As per CDC, it is as high as 14.8%. For those above 70 years it is 8%. In India, government has been pro-active in taking a number of steps. Despite this, there is so much still be done, as our numbers are huge.

Awareness is key, especially in rural areas and interiors. We at ATITI WELFARE our teams have reached out to elders and their community both in urban and rural India, through our wide network of Elder-Self-Help-Groups.

Old age homes, Senior Citizens Associations and Rural Areas are making them aware of the safety and preventive measures they must take to protect themselves against COVID 19, such as washing of hands, keeping social distance etc.

Despite the challenges now on ground with the lockdown, our teams subject to Govt. and local authority permissions, are now preparing the following

Family Survival Kits which include basic ration like Rice, Wheat, Spices, cooking oil etc. along with Corona protective gear like masks, bathing and washing soaps, for disadvantaged elders and their family of 5.

Protective Hygiene Kits for our elders, to fight COVID-19 which include Sanitizers, Mask, Tissues, Handwash etc.

Free Meals to the homeless in night shelters, on roads, elders in old age homes, slums and migrant daily wage labors who have nowhere and no one to turn to.

All our work on ground is being done with utmost care and we are ensuring that all hygiene and precautionary measures are being taken care of by our teams, our foot soldiers as we call them.
